SA Long Championships - Barossa Range

Yalanga organised a perfect day for the State Championships in the Barossa high country. Blue skies and sunshine, green rolling hills, big views, and some tricky rocks to distract ones attention away from those big views.
Around 130 competitors enjoyed the courses devised by Peter Mayer. Thanks to those who made the journey from interstate. Unfortunately not enough interstate competitors, however, to capture the SA-Vic Challenge trophy, named in memory of Dexter and Irena Palmer who were prominent orienteers in both states. The trophy was won by SA.
Particular thanks to Rob Tucker as event organiser, and to John Lyon (TT S) for significant contribution as event controller. Thanks also to the many Yalangans who assisted with the various facets of a Championship event and helped it to run smoothly.
