Despite a poor number of pre-entries (45) there was a good turnout for an event clashing with a major weekend event in NSW and Mother's Day, with 40 folk entering on the day, including several newcomers. Most found the going harder than ever; BCC's flawed burn-off vegetation management plan and two wet summers has left very little 'runnable' forest now. Some complained that several paths were missing from the new map; the truth is that I surveyed then deliberately omitted over 40 small ''animal'' tracks that would have made the map almost illegible, and certainly detracted from the navigational challenge. Many thanks to Mark Nemeth for all his efforts despite injury, and our small band of TFQ helpers on the day.
