It’s been a long, long time between events for me and Tony Z. It was so nice to get back to the bush and see all our old orienteering friends again. We even got to meet a lovely Norwegian family (the Johnsen family x 4) who wanted to get in some orienteering during their short holiday here.
We had more of a turn out than expected (school holidays & junior camp burn-out?) and nice ‘O’ weather to boot - cool and overcast, no rain. What more could an organiser ask for, apart for a great helping team? Well, I got that too.
A big big thank you to ... Tony Z, who always does more than his fair share, who helped me with so many things I don’t have room to detail it all; Jim and Rhonda Bowling who helped enormously, before the event (putting out controls) and on the day (registration, setting up & down, collecting controls; Steve Doyle (SI & control collection); Matt Doyle (control collection). Last but not least, Mike Burridge (for helping us set up the SI and getting us on our SI way); and Tim McIntyre (for programming the SI’ units for me & posting the results on the web.
